Gas prices bumping ever upward
Should unrest in Middle East be blamed despite low demand?

By TRACY ESTES
News Editor

Gasoline prices continue to climb regularly across the nation as subtle unrest in the Middle East continues. Yet is the Middle East uncertainty really to blame for the rising prices?
What concerns motorists is the fact prices are climbing so high with the peak of the driving season still several months away.
The prices seen at many Marion County stations ranged from $3.51 to $3.55 as of presstime on Thursday, Feb. 2.
This price was higher than the state average of $3.38 and only slightly lower than the national average of $3.45.
