• Marion County Public Water Authority, first Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the authority ’s office at 130 Industrial Drive in Hamilton.
• Marion County Soil and Water Conversation District Board of Supervisors, second Tuesday of each month at 5:45 p.m. at Oh! Bryan ’s Family Steakhouse in Hamilton.
• Northwest Alabama Arts Council, date and time set individually, at the Hamilton City Hall.
• Northwest Alabama Gas District Board of Directors, date and time set individually, at the gas district office in Hamilton. (The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, at 11 a.m.)
• Twin Town Council, first Monday at 7 p.m. at the Twin Town Hall building.
• Twin Water Authority, first Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Twin Water Authority building.

Hamilton Police Dept.
Hamilton - The following activities were reported by the Hamilton Police Department for the week of April 30-May 6:
The following felony cases were for the week were as follows:
• Roger Dale Cantrell, 37, Hamilton, was arrested on May 3 for possession of a controlled substance.
(When a defendant is charged with a crime, the charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.)
The following incident and offense cases for the week were as follows:  two each for domestic violence, third-degree theft of property, theft by deception and criminal mischief; and one each for harassment, vicious dog, assault, possession of a controlled substance, harassing communications and missing person.
The following arrests or citations were made: five for alias warrants; four each for improper tag and capias warrants; three each for speeding; two each for no driver ’s license and no seatbelt; and one each for harassment, driving under the influence, suspended license, running a red light, no proof of insurance, public intoxication, theft by deception, third-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance, warrant/other agency and revoked license.
The department worked one accident during the period.
Marion Co. Sheriff’s Dept.
Hamilton - The following arrests and activities were listed by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for the period ending May 6:  
• David C. Cheeks, 31, Hamilton, was arrested on May 3 for first-degree manufacturing and possession of paraphernalia and remains in the Marion County Jail in Hamilton under a $15,500 bond.  
• Melvin Keeton, 33, Hamilton, was arrested on May 3 for first-degree manufacturing and was released from the county jail on May 7 under a $15,000 bond.  
• Lee R. Hollis, 33, Guin, was arrested on April 30 for 14 counts of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful distribution and second-degree possession of marijuana and remains in the county jail under a $193,000 bond.
• Justin A. Springfield, 20, Winfield, was arrested on May 1 for a grand jury indictment of sodomy/rape and was released from the county jail on May 2 under a $10,000 bond.
• Kenneth Lee Crowe, 47, Winfield, was arrested on April 29 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia and remains in the county jail under a $10,500 bond.
• Lomax Swanigan Jr., Guin, was arrested on April 29 for unlawful distribution, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of paraphernalia and remains in the county jail under a $31,000 bond.

Among the misdemeanor arrests for the period were the following: seven for probation violation; four each for alias warrants and issuing worthless checks; three each for bench warrant and paraphernalia; and one each for domestic violence/assault and harassing communications.

Winfield Police Dept.
WINFIELD - Officers with the Winfield Police Department issued 29 citations during the period from April 30-May 6 with the following breakdown: 16 for speeding; three for no insurance; two for driving with a suspended license; and one each for improper tag and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The following incident reports were filed during the period: two each for not in control of animals and officer ’s report; and one each for gas drive-off, first-degree theft of property, third-degree theft of property, child in need of supervision, third-degree domestic violence, violation of local noise ordinance, and third-degree assault.
The department worked six accidents in the period.
