Cassie Webb had two singles, two doubles, and four RBI for the Lady Aggies.
Hamilton’s Amanda Shaw and Real each had two singles, one double, and two RBI.
Hamilton’s Lindsay Shaw, LaQueesha Poe, and Leah Sands each had a single and a double. Poe and Sands each had three RBI. Shaw had two.
Gretta Burgett had a double and two RBI for the Lady Aggies.
Hamilton’s Whitney Hudson had two singles. Whitney Aycock had a single and one RBI.
Friday, May 2
Hamilton 11, Dora 6
hamilton - The Hamilton Lady Aggies defeated Dora 11-6 during their second matchup of the Class 4A, Area 9 softball tournament.
Whitney Aycock and Lindsay Shaw led the way for the Lady Aggies with three hits each. Aycock added a double and two RBI. Shaw had two doubles and one RBI.
Amanda Shaw, Whitney Hudson, and Gretta Burgett each had two singles. Burgett also had one RBI.
Hannah Real pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits. She struck out seven batters.
Real helped her cause on the mound, adding a single and two RBI.
Hamilton 2, Dora 1
Hamilton - The Hamilton Lady Aggies won the Class 4A, Area 9 tournament with a 2-1 victory over Dora.
Hamilton’s Hannah Real pitched each of the seven innings, allowing four hits and striking out seven batters.
LaQueesha Poe and Lindsay Shaw each had doubles for the Lady Aggies. Poe also had one RBI.
Hamilton’s Amanda Shaw added a single to the Lady Aggies’ batting statistics.
Tuesday, May 6
Hackleburg 4, Tharptown 2
hackleburg - The Hackleburg Lady Panthers defeated Tharptown 4-2 during game one of the two-teams ’ best-of-three playoff series.
Hackleburg’s Kori Husley took the mound and pitched a complete game. She had six strikeouts.
Hope Hudson had two singles, a double, and one RBI for the Lady Panthers. Hulsey had a double and one RBI.
Hackleburg’s Morgan Ledbetter had two singles during the contest.
Kasie Frederick added a single to the Lady Panthers’ batting totals.
Hackleburg 11, Tharptown 3
hackleburg - The Hackleburg Lady Panthers advanced to round two of the state softball playoffs with an 11-3 victory over Tharptown.
Hackleburg’s Kori Hulsey pitched her second complete game of the series, striking out four batters in seven innings.
Cindy Kivette and Kasie Frederick each had two singles and a double for the Lady Panthers. Kivette also had one RBI.
Hackleburg’s Paige Pope, Hulsey, and Morgan Wooten each had two singles and one RBI.
Hope Hudson and Maggie Barnwell each had singles for the Lady Panthers.
With the victory, Hackleburg advanced to play Lynn during round two of the state softball playoffs scheduled for today.
Hamilton 1, Boaz 0
hamilton - Lindsay Shaw’s eighth-inning single drove in the only run of the game, giving the Hamilton Lady Aggies a 1-0 victory over Boaz during round one of the state softball playoffs.
Hamilton’s Hannah Real allowed five hits during eight innings pitched. She struck out 10 batters during the contest.
Whitney Aycock had a single and a double for the Lady Aggies.
Hamilton’s Whitney Hudson had one single during the matchup.
Hamilton 6, Boaz 3
hamilton - The Hamilton Lady Aggies advanced to the second round of the state softball playoffs with a 6-3 victory over Boaz.
Hamilton’s Hannah Real struck out four batters during seven innings of work on the mound.
Whitney Aycock had two singles and two RBI for the Lady Aggies.
Hamilton’s Amanda Shaw, Whitney Hudson, Gretta Burgett, Lindsay Shaw, and LaQueesha Poe each had singles during the contest.
A. Shaw, Burgett, and Poe each had one RBI for the Lady Aggies.
The victory improved Hamilton’s season record to 23-12. The win also advanced the Lady Aggies to to a second-round road-contest with Alexandria scheduled for today.
