Wesley "Wes" Johnson, 40, of Sulligent, Ala., passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, near Hamilton, Ala. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Crews Community Church with burial following in Crews Cemetery. Bro. Tom Ward officiated.
Wes was born on Aug. 12, 1982 in Fayette, Ala. to Paul Terry Johnson and Lana Denise May Johnson. He was a 2000 Graduate of Sulligent High School and later earned his Master's Degree at the University of Alabama. Wes was previously employed by the IRS. He was a good father and loved spending time with his kids. Wes enjoyed walking, kayaking and being outdoors. He was a member of Crews Community Church.
Survived by his father, Pete Johnson (Susan), Honduras; mother, Lana McCollum (Billy), Sulligent; grandmother, Frances H. Johnson, Brilliant, Ala.; sons, Elijah Paul Johnson, and Cohen Johnson, both of Hamilton; sisters, Stacy Lashea Garrison, Sulligent and Brittany Nicole Pate, Winfield, Ala.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by grandmother, Carol Sue May; and grandfathers, Alton C. May and Russell Johnson
Pallbearers: David May, Jeff May, Judson Stough, Chris May, Ed Canterbury, and Jimmy Johnson
