Lucille Munger Gosa

Lucille (Lucy) Munger Gosa, 74, of Notasulga, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.
Lucy was born on June 19, 1948 in Moline, Ill., to the late Roy and Mina Stanley Munger. She was a seamstress for Reltoc, Coy Glenn, and Health-Tex. She continued working at home for many years after her retirement. She served as the pastor of the First Assembly of God in Notasulga for 20 years. She was a member of Philadelphia Deliverance Tabernacle in Lynn, Ala. and Full Gospel Fellowship in Vernon, Ala.  Lucy was saved on Easter Sunday, preached her last service on Easter Sunday, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, pastor, and friend. She continually shared her love of the Lord until her passing.
She was survived by her children, Melissa Gosa Bagley (Tom) of Notasulga, Sheila Gosa Bostick (Wayde) of Hamilton, Ala., Rick Gosa (Michael) of Montgomery, Ala., Cynthia Gosa Rasberry of Conway, S.C., and Judy Gosa Barnett (Dexter) of Brilliant, Ala.; grandchildren, Regina Carr (Ephram), Amanda Dove (Eric), Amy Davis (Craig), Jason Powell, Gwen Cox (Kevin), Kira Correll (Kelly), Danielle Handley (Skylar), Michael Bagley, Grant Bagley, and James Bagley; 14 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; her brother, George Munger (Judy) of Eclectic, Ala.; her sister, Peggy Wolfe of Silvis, Ill.; her very special cousin, Opal Mayhugh of Notasulga; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mina Munger; her husband, James Gosa; a great-grandson, Skylar Melendez; sisters, Nancy Downey and Mary McNalley; and infant brother, John Allen.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from the Philadelphia Deliverance Tabernacle with burial following in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Gary Lackey officiated.
Tanner Dove, Cole Dove, Gaige Melendez, Kelly Correll, Skylar Handley, Eric Dove, Craig Davis, and Hobie Cole served as pallbearers.
Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield served the Gosa family.
