Ellen Hall Cochran, 82, of Hamilton, received her wings upon passing away at her residence, with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Born and raised in Hackleburg to Hugh and Marie Caudle Hall, Ellen was a fifth generation granddaughter of Stephen Caudle, who was the founder of what is now known as Guin. She was affectionately known to her family and friends as ‘Trick.’ For over 64 years, she was a wife and mother, dedicating herself in caring for her husband and two daughters. She was a doting and loving grandmother and great-grandmother like no other. She was a member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church where she loved to sing. Ellen never faltered in her faith in the Lord. Those who knew her could see her resolve in living her life as a Christian.
Those who await to join her in the Home up high include her husband of 64 years, Elvis R. Cochran; daughters, Cherie (Alan) Connell and Micki (Tim) Harper; granddaughter, Jessica Hileman; grandson, Allen (Kim) Venn; great-grandsons, Zach Newton, Justus Venn and Kale Venn; sisters, Lawana Shultz and Sue (Luther) Rye; brother, John ( Jean) Hall; sisters-in-law, Daisy ( Joe) King and Darlene Reed; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hayward ‘Buddy’ Hall; as well as her sons-in-law, James Venn and Robert Newton. Lastly, she leaves behind her beloved fur baby, Ruffy.
Funeral services were held at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery on April 26, 2023.
The family would like to give special heartfelt gratefulness to Hospice of Northwest Alabama, Consetta and Loretta as well as Amanda Peterson. Each of you were wonderful and caring and a blessing from God.
