BEAR CREEK — Continue your Fourth of July festivities in Bear Creek this Saturday for the town’s annual Friendship Festival to be held at Twin Forks Park.
Beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, the fun will continue all day until after the fireworks show, which starts at 9 p.m. and will be held at ball field 1.
Viewable from any area in the park and also from boats on Bear Creek, the fireworks show is set to last at least 30 minutes, with patriotic music accompanying the event.
Merchandise and food vendors, a car show (registration begins at 8 a.m.), live music and arts and crafts will be among the offerings.
Most of the Friendship Festival happens in the picnic area of the park, with parking available on the grassy area to the left of the entrance road.
The musical lineup includes Mia Adair at 12:30 p.m., Joseph Baldwin at 2 p.m., Dustin Busbee and Nathan Sandlin at 3:30 p.m., the South Layne Band at 5:30 p.m. and headliners Wayne Sutherland and the Showtime Band at 7:30 p.m.
Also as part of the Independence Day-themed festival, the Winston County Grays Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will have cannon firings throughout the day.
Car show registration is day-of-event only and costs $15 per vehicle, with proceeds to benefit the town. Door prizes will also…
