WINFIELD — The Lions Club is a global non-profit service organization that provides humanitarian aid and serves their communities through volunteer efforts. Their mission, summarized by the motto "We Serve," focuses on key areas including vision care, hunger relief, childhood cancer support, environmental programs, diabetes awareness and youth outreach. Lions Clubs engage in local projects, partner with various organizations and raise funds to support their international initiatives and make a positive impact on the lives of people in need.
The Winfield Lions club sponsors a food box distribution at Christmas to help those in our area who are in need. They also sponsor children with diabetes to attend Camp ASCCA. Lastly, the Winfield Lions club helps those in need with vision care.
Another impact on the community made possible by the Lions club is the large pavilion at Ivan K. Hill Park. The Lions Club originally erected a pavilion there in 1973. While it served its purpose for many years, it had succumbed to the years of weather, and in 2022, the Lions club removed the old structure and built a new one.
