COUNTY OF MARION
WHEREAS, the County Commission of Marion County, Alabama, proposes that the public interest will be served by the vacation of the public highway herein described; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSION OF MARION COUNTY, ALABAMA, That a public hearing shall be scheduled at the Commission Office located in the Marion County Courthouse on the 13th of December, 2021, at 9:00am for the purpose of receiving the public’s input on said vacation; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Commission Chairman and County Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to publish notice of said public hearing in The Journal Record once a week for four consecutive weeks, said notice shall be substantially as follows: On the 13th day of December, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., the Marion County Commission will hold a public hearing at the Commission Offices located at 119 Military Street North, Hamilton, Alabama, on the County’s proposal to vacate a portion of an unnamed public road more specifically described as follows: Commence at the intersection of C P Guin Road and Lamar Road, proceed thence in a northeasterly direction along C P Guin Road an approximate distance of 220 ft. also being the point of beginning of the herein proposed road vacation; proceed thence in a northerly direction along C P Guin Road an approximate distance of 700 ft. to the point of termination of said road vacation. Said road is located in Section 19, Township 12 South, Range 13 West, Marion County, AL. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Commission Chairman and County Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to post a copy of said notice on a bulletin board at the Marion County Courthouse and in the Office of the County Commission; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Commission Chairman and County Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to serve a copy of said notice by United States Mail, at least 30 days prior to the scheduled meeting, on any abutting owner and on any entity known to have facilities or equipment such as utility lines, both aerial or buried, within the public right-of-way of the portion of said highway proposed to be vacated.
