Dora Atkinson

Mrs. Dora Lee Atkinson, 91, of Winfield passed away on July 17, 2024, in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  Mrs. Atkinson was born in Alabama to Leslie and Minnie Trimm. Dora was married to Carl Ray Atkinson in 1952 and was a member of Winfield Freewill Baptist Church. She worked for Health-Tex Manufacturing in Guin until her retirement.  After her retirement, she volunteered with the Christian Center of Concern until its closure. She spent her life dedicated to her church, family, and children. She enjoyed sewing for people in her shop and growing large gardens.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Ray Atkinson; grandchildren, LaSha Atkinson, Phillip Atkinson Jr., Eric Atkinson (Jennifer), Courtney Atkinson Pearce (Dave), Jared Atkinson, and Tyler Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Reese Smith (Bryan), Analiese Mosley, Isaiah Atkinson, Makenna Reeves Stidham (Avery), Riley Atkinson, Mason Atkinson, Carvin Atkinson and Lane Atkinson; siblings, Shirley Langley (Buddy), Marilyn Springer, Arnold Trimm (Ann), Cecil Trimm (Sharon), Lita Smith (Leonard) and Wanda Berryhill (Tony).
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ray Atkinson; sons, Timothy Craig Atkinson and Mark Atkinson; and brother, Jim “Boss” White.
Funeral services for Mrs. Atkinson were held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Old Union Cemetery.
