Meek 34 Marion County 14
ARLEY - The Meek Tigers (4-2, 3-1) went up against the Marion County Raiders (5-2, 2-2) Friday, Oct. 1, and gave the homecoming crowd a 34-14 win over the visiting Raiders.
Meek received the kickoff, and after four first downs and a 70-yard drive, Cameron Deaver scored the first touchdown with Blake Miller offering a good 2-point conversion, lighting the scoreboard 8-0, Meek.
As Marion County got the ball, a fumble resulted in a pick-up by Meek who took it past the Raiders’ defense for their second touchdown. The honor this time went to Miller. The 2-point try was no good, which left the score 14-0, Meek.
As the clock ticked down to zero, Raiders’ quarterback Jacob Madison threw a complete pass to Dearioh Lipsey for their first touchdown. Another complete pass by the two added 2 points, leaving the first quarter 14-8.
