Mr. Jay Michael Pridmore, better known as Mike, 63, of Winfield passed away on June 26, 2024, in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Mike was born in Moline, Ill. on July 6, 1960, to James and Grace Norris Pridmore. He attended Eldridge Church of Christ. Mike was a 1978 graduate of Winfield High School and was a very talented shortstop in baseball. Mike received college baseball scholarship offers to continue his play after high school, but he decided on a different route; he married his high school sweetheart Debbie Box. They were happily married for almost 45 years. Mike spent much of his life as a carpenter, and he owned and operated J&M Cabinets for 23 years and J&M Construction for the last 18 years. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed gardening, watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and sharing the Bible. You could often find him studying for many hours every day.
Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie Pridmore; sons, Derek Scott Pridmore and Anthony Kyle Pridmore (Heather); grandchildren, Drake, Anna, Miller, Averee, Maddox, Amera and Asher Pridmore; sister, Sheila Rawls; mother-in-law, Shirley Aldridge; brothers-in-law, James Allen Aldridge (Starla) and William Jeff Aldridge (Tammy); sister-in-law, Kathy Box Moret (Peter); and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, David Pridmore; and grandparents, Jesse and Willene Pridmore.
Funeral services for Mr. Pridmore were held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the McGraw Memorial Chapel of the Miles Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home of Alabama at: 86 Academy Drive Eldridge, AL 35554 in Mike’s memory.
