HAMILTON — During a regular meeting on Aug. 19, the council approved the hiring of John Boyett of Hamilton B.A.S.E. to help update and upgrade the City of Hamilton’s Ordinances by scanning them, organizing them and posting them on the city’s website.
The city purchased an ET24 Pro Scanner for $539, which is able to scan the pages without them being taken out of the ordinance books, as some of the books and pages are older and extremely vulnerable to handling.
Boyett is being paid $4,500 to complete the task, bringing the total project to $5,039.
Hamilton Mayor Bob Page noted, “I think this is something we definitely need to do. And this will enable folks who want to know about an ordinance to go right there on our website and find it.
“And every time we pass an ordinance, we’ll ask John to update it and keep it updated going forward so we never get behind again.”
