Renovated ER at Hamilton hopsital offers more privacy, patient & staff space

HAMILTON — North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton opened its newly renovated Emergency Department on Tuesday, May 20. Patients needing emergency care once again enter through the ER entrance located on the north side of the hospital.
As part of the renovation, a semi-private room was converted into two private rooms, a triage/overflow room was added and a more efficient space was created for teams caring for emergency patients.
Three negative pressure rooms were also created by upgrading ventilation. These rooms can be used to help control the spread of airborne diseases.
The renovation also improved patient flow to the surgery department, as there is now a dedicated entrance separate from the ER area.
