Veterans honored in inaugural program Friday
HAMILTON — Hamilton’s plans to honor U.S. veterans this year turned out to be a major success this Veterans Day at the Bevill Community Center.
By LOUIS MELLINI Staff Writer HAMILTON - After the incidents that have taken place in Kabul, the Journal Record sat with former U.S. Marine Marlon Holloway, who served several years in Afghanistan, to speak about his experiences in the region on Tuesday, Sept. 21. Holloway was born on July 28, 1963, in Mobile and moved to Hamilton in the summer of 1975. He graduated from Hamilton High School in May 1981 and very soon thereafter, joined the U.S. Marine Corps in September 1981. “I wanted to get the hell out of Hamilton,” Holloway said, laughing.
