Gunner returns home with large escort

HAMILTON – The son of a Hamilton police officer was escorted home on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9, led by a host of police officers, sheriff’s deputies and firemen.
Gunner Pendley, 20, son of Hamilton Police Department Lt. Jimmy Pendley and Kimberly Reese, suffered a brain stem injury in July 2019 following a tractor accident. He has spent the last four months undergoing treatment and therapy in Atlanta, Ga.

Relay race, prayer meeting set for Gunner Pendley

HAMILTON - Gunner Strong, a mass prayer meeting and relay race for Gunner Pendley, is set for Saturday, Aug. 31, at Sargent Stadium.
The prayer meeting begins at 8 a.m. and the relay race follows at 8:30 a.m.
The entry fee is $10 and any donations are accepted. Everyone is invited to the prayer meeting prior to the race.
The event is on the same day as Hamilton Toy Bowl hosts a pre-season football tournament. Anyone running, praying or volunteering is not allowed to park in the new gym parking lot or on Aggie Avenue.

 

‘It’s a divine miracle’

BIRMINGHAM - The father of Gunner Pendley is crediting God and prayers for the unexpected improvement of his son’s health.
“It’s a divine miracle from our Father in Heaven,” said Hamilton Police Department Lt. Jimmy Pendley, whose son was expected to either die or be brain dead after suffering a severe brain injury.
On Wednesday, July 24, Gunner Pendley, 20, Hamilton, son of Jimmy Pendley and Kimberly Reese, was involved in a tractor accident around 1:30 p.m. while working in the Wayside Community in Fayette County.
