Betty Jo Loague

Betty Jo Loague, 92, of Hamilton, Ala., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on Sept. 12, 1933, in Hackleburg, Betty Jo lived a life defined by faith, hard work and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She made her home in Hamilton, where she was a faithful member of Hamilton Church of Christ for more than 60 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Shotts Blanke; her grandchildren, Wayne Young (Bethany) and Christie Holland (Joe); her great-grandchildren, Joey Holland (Phoebe Hall), Kelsey Barber (Brandon) and Ryan Young; her great-great-grandchildren, Madelyn Barber and Caleb Barber; her sister, Becky Nix; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Betty Jo was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Shotts Campbell; her husband of 58 years, James Loague; her husband, Leon Shotts; her parents, Oliver and Ollie Wiley; her sisters, Mae Roberts, Deloris (“Dodie”) Mayfield, Ruby Lee Archer and Marie Holloway; and her brothers, Clyde Wiley, John Wiley, Charles Wiley and Jimmy Wiley.
Funeral services were held on July 21, 2026, at the Hamilton Church of Christ with Bro. Todd Clippard officiating. Burial followed in the Shottsville Cemetery.
