Lady Tigers win, Hackleburg Panthers win in overtime

BRILLIANT — The Brilliant Tigers took on the Hackleburg Panthers on Tiger court Tuesday, Jan. 24. The Lady Tigers won 63-35, and the boys’ game went into overtime with Hackleburg the victor 72-67.
The Lady Tigers stayed ahead of the Lady Panthers, scoring 24, 14, 21 and 4 points in each of the quarters against Hackleburg’s 9, 13, 4 and 9. Brilliant’s Macy Moore scored 25 points and had 5 steals, Hadlee Sanderson scored 18 points with 11 rebounds, Abby Humphries and Abbigail Dickinson had 6 each, Kate Beasley had 4 and Madison Moore and Brooke O’Mary had 2 each.
Hackleburg’s Saylor Cooper scored the most with 12 points, followed by Ellie Nichols with 7 points, Bella Rackard with 6 points, Jordin Ware with 5 points, Laine Steward with 3 and Maddie Burt with 2.
Stats for the Hackleburg boys’ game show Jaquan Reeder the leader in points with 19, followed by Blaise Vickery with 16 and Daughtry Gober with 15.
No stats were available for Brilliant boys.
The Lady Tigers also won against Cherokee 77-33 on Jan. 23. Sanderson had 22 points, and Macy Moore had 21 points.
On Jan. 26, the Lady Tigers won again, against Haleyville 51-37. Sanderson scored 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Macy had 14 points and 5 steals.
On Jan. 27, the Lady Tigers won against Berry 65-23. Macy had 21 points and 5 steals, while Sanderson had 17 points and 5 rebounds.
