WINFIELD — Northwest Regional Health will unveil its new $4 million emergency department on Friday, June 16, with a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. and tours for the community from 1-6 p.m. The state-of-the-art facility represents a significant community investment for the emergency medical care of Marion, Lamar, Fayette and Winston counties.
"We are thrilled to open this new emergency department in Winfield," said Dr. Martin Hajjar, Northwest Regional Health emergency department director. "Our goal is to provide the best possible care to patients in need, and this new facility will allow us to do just that."
The new emergency department is staffed by highly trained doctors and nurses dedicated to providing the highest quality care to patients in need. The department is equipped with the latest medical technology and equipment with a modern design and layout to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. The new 10-bed, 9,500 plus square foot facility will transform patient care at the hospital. It includes spacious trauma bays, all private exam rooms, negative pressure exam room, separate negative pressure waiting room, as well as a decontamination area.
"We understand that emergencies can be stressful and overwhelming, which is why we've designed our new facility to be as comfortable and welcoming as possible," said Misty Pearce, director of emergency services at Northwest Regional Health. "We want our patients to feel at ease and know that they are in good hands."
Patients should enter from Medical Drive, and the new location is at the rear of the hospital building. The new emergency department will open to the public on Monday, July 19, at 6 a.m. Until then, patients may continue to seek care at the old location. Funding for this project was made available by a matching grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. For more information, visit our website at northwestrh.org
