The Winfield Public Library will be hosting their third annual Angel Tree program for local nursing home residents and homebound residents who receive meals through the senior center. They are counting on the community to help bring Christmas to 180 local seniors in need.
During the week of Oct. 15, people can go to the library and choose an angel off of the Angel Tree. Each angel will list what items are needed and wanted and where the items will be going. People will bring the items and the angel back to the library no later than Tuesday, Nov. 19.
There is no requirement to get all items on the list. It is recommend people focus on the "needed" items before purchasing any "wanted" items.
This year, the library is asking people to bring items back to the library in Christmas gift bags. They ask that people do not wrap boxes or gift items because they will have to check them to make sure all items will be allowed at the facility/home they will be going to. If anyone is not able to bring items back in gift bags, the library will make sure the items are packaged in a Christmas gift bag before delivering.
If anyone has any questions about this program, they can call 205-487-2484.
