Jettie P. Jewell, 84, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at her residence. She was born Friday, Oct. 18, 1940, in Hamilton, to Leonard Nixon and Eva Dell Yeilding Nixon.
She is survived by her husband, David Jewell; daughters, Sherry Wiginton (Paul), Shawn Adams (Bud) and Scarlet Harris (Frank); grandchildren, Amber, Zach, Fallon, Cassie, Jetta, Shane, Tisha, Seth, Patricia and Jacob; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Mays, Eva Carol Sartain; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Eva Dell Nixon; siblings, Hayward (Virginia) Nixon, Joel (Doris) Nixon, Norma Lou (Roy) Brooks, Gennetta Cayson, infant brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 2, 2025, at Hamilton Church of Christ. Bro. Ted Burleson officiated. Interment followed at Shiloh Cemetery.
