Arthur Drennon Veal

Arthur Drennon Veal, 87, of Guin, formerly of Bear Creek, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 10, 2025, at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. Mr. Veal was born Aug. 7, 1937, to Travis and Vernell Veal. He served as the former mayor and city councilman of Bear Creek, dedicating his life to the betterment of his community.
A man of deep faith, Drennon loved singing gospel music and was a member of the quartet known as The Builders. He was a committed Christian and served as a deacon and song director at Bear Creek No. 1 Baptist Church, where his faith inspired many. Drennon retired from Reynolds Aluminum after a distinguished career, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Drennon will be remembered for his kindness, his love for family and his unwavering commitment to his community and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Drennon was a devoted husband to his amazing wife, Libby Veal, and a proud father to his son, Scott Drennon Veal, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Veal. He cherished his grandchildren, Hunter Veal (Hanna) and Allie Veal, as well as his great-grandchild, Stetson Scott Veal.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers, Buddy and Kirby Veal; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Pauline Roden.
Funeral services were held on April 12, 2025, at Bear Creek No. 1 Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Crumpton officiating.  Burial followed at Bear Creek City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hunter Veal, Wayne Rushing, Jack Fleming, Stirley Adrian, Jake Coleman, Alex Lindley, Dexter Bonner and Jake Bonner.
