Anna Wallace

Anna Jean Wallace was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Hamilton, Ala., to the union of Fannie Catherine Moon and Willie B. Crump. She was the youngest of four children.
Anna Jean attended and graduated from Ada Hannah School in Bexar, Ala. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and faithfully worshiped at West Marion Church Of Christ.
In Dec. 1967, she was united in holy matrimony to Redden Wallace Jr., who preceded her in death in May 2020. They shared 52 years of marriage. To their union, one daughter was born, Anna Maria Wallace (Branch).
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bobby Moon, Chester Crump and Willie Crump. Anna Jean worked as a substitute teacher at her alma mater, Ada Hannah School, as well as at Guin Colored School. She also spent much of her career caring for others through babysitting and housekeeping until her retirement.
She loved meeting new people, dancing, singing and bringing joy to those around her. Family gatherings were especially dear to her heart, and she was often seen with a radiant smile.
On Sept. 17, 2025, Anna Jean departed this life peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in Winfield.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Anna Maria Branch; son-in-law, Theo Branch; grandson, Austin Dixon (Tiffany); great-grandsons, Jaxon Morgan and Ezekiel Dixon; four sisters-in-law, Sarah Moon (Jasper, Ala.), Mittie Nalls (Fayette, Ala.), Lillie Key and Amanda Hackman (both of Guin) and Judy McDaniels (St. Louis, Mo.); two brothers-in-law, George Wallace and Mackie Wallace (both of Guin), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held Sept. 27, 2025, at the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens.
