MARION COUNTY — Community Action Partnership of North Alabama currently has openings for children for its Head Start classrooms in Hamilton and Brilliant.
Head Start offers no-cost, high quality early education services in a classroom setting for children up to age 4. Transportation to and from school is not provided.
Families can apply at capna.org/applications. After applying online, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled.
Documentation that will be needed includes:
• Proof of child’s birth (preferably a birth certificate) and
• Income verification (W-2 form, 1040 form, check stub, unemployment or pension/annuity payments or military income - service pay only - for the last tax season or the previous 12 months).
Additional information needed will or may include the child’s Medicaid or insurance card, WIC or food stamp information, parent or guardian’s college and/or military ID and proof of kinship care. For children with disabilities, an IFSP/IEP may be required.
Children with diagnosed disabilities receive priority points in the application process. Priority is also provided for children in foster care, homeless children and children whose parents/guardians are receiving public assistance, such as TANF, SSI or SNAP.
