Grace Lavon Frederick, 84, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at The Courtyards Community Living Center in Fulton, Miss.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1937, to the late Phillip E. and Hulda J. Ritch in Hamilton. She was born and raised in the Fulton Bridge community. She was a member of Fulton Bridge Baptist Church and as she would say "A member even before she was born." She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was affectionately called "Grandma" and to a few others "Gracie.” She was a blessing to all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters - Brenda (Brian) Beck, Patricia (Timothy) Lann and Marsha (Garrick) Fields; grandchildren - John Frederick, Dylan Frederick, Amysha (Derek) Holland, Annea (Derrick) Sims and Paul Fields; great-grandchildren - Tahrleigh Frederick, Isaiah Volk, Josiah Volk and Elsie Volk; brother - Ray (Ann) Ritch; close caregiver and friend - JoNell Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband - Marshall Frederick; son - Jimmy Frederick; granddaughter - Marisa Frederick; brothers - Derrell, Arthur, Dennis, Elden and Stanley Ritch; sisters - Edith Pate, Iantha Mays, Olean Barnett and Lois Peoples.
The funeral service for Mrs. Frederick was held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at the Fulton Bridge Church with burial following at the adjoining cemetery.
