Mrs. Maelean Cummings, 82, of Brilliant, Ala. passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility. Mrs. Cummings was born in Marion County, Ala. on May 11, 1940 to Jim and Felicia Hugley Hulsey. Mrs. Cummings spent much of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family and children. In her spare time, Maelean enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and working in her flower beds.
Mrs. Cummings is survived by her son, Tony Cummings (Jan); daughters, Laura Mayfield (Richard) and Kathy Burleson; grandchildren, Shannon Cummings, Grant Cummings, Kevin Burleson, and Ginger Mayfield; great-grandchildren, Jacie and Macy Cummings, Gavin Cummings, Blake Young, and Indee and Slade Kois; great-great-granddaughter, Madalyn Blake Young; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her husband, Burdis Cummings; grandson, Craig Burleson; and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cummings were held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Center Cemetery.
