Mr. Deroy Fowler Jr., better known as “Roy”, 70, of Winfield, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in Diversicare of Winfield. Mr. Fowler was born in Fayette County, Ala. on August 21, 1952 to Deroy Edward Sr. and Clara South Fowler. Roy attended Hubbertville High School. He spent much of his life employed as a mechanic for McCraw’s Shop in Hubbertville, Ala., and later with Best Manufacturing in Fayette. In his spare time, Roy enjoyed doing yard work and going to flea markets and yard sales with his granddaughter.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife of 22 years, Paula Cross Fowler; son, Jerry Thomas Mackum Jr.; and grandchildren, Amiah and Marcus Henry, Emma, Taylor, and Aubrey Mackum.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Jean Nelson; and sisters, Clara Sue Colburn and Nelda Jean Kizzire.
A memorial service for Mr. Fowler will be held at a later date.
