marion County E-911 asks residents and business to update/verify address

HAMILTON — Are you purchasing a structure (home or business), or purchasing property with the intention of placing a structure on it? Please contact Marion County 911 to ensure you get the correct 911 address.
New addresses must have GPS coordinates taken and distances measured before being issued. Additionally, 911 often sees buyers of existing homes or businesses are given incorrect addresses by third parties. Marion County 911 is the only agency that can issue addresses in Marion County, Ala.
Marion County 911 also encourages you to contact them if you have recently changed the appearance of your home or business, have recently moved or just want to make sure your address information is up to date.
Marion County 911 is responsible for assigning all street addresses in the county. They also maintain a database consisting of building descriptions, contact person(s) and other information for both residential and business addresses. This information helps responders find an address, and gives them a way to contact property owners in the event of an emergency.
