Sherry Pickard Armstrong, for Hamilton City Council Seat #3
HAMILTON — My name is Sherry Pickard Armstrong. My husband, Hollis, and I have twin sons, Brian Kim (Teresa) Armstrong and Kevin Brett (Melissa) Armstrong. We have two grandsons, Blayne Armstrong and Derrick (Annea) Sims. We all reside in Hamilton.
I am a graduate of Hamilton High School and Northwest Technical College (now Bevill State Community College-Hamilton). I earned an education specialists degree in supervision and a doctorate degree in leadership, both from the University of Alabama.
I am a former educator of 30 years. For 21 of those years, I was the principal of Hamilton Elementary School. For the past two years, I have served on the Hamilton City Council, working to improve our city in a positive way.
My goal to ensure a better city for our citizens continues to be a priority. I will work to:
• Encourage business and industry for future growth;
• Improve our ambulance service;
• Continue to improve our infrastructure;
• Keep our inpatient hospital, encouraging NMHS of Tupelo, Miss., to provide more quality services for our citizens;
• Continue to fund our medical helicopter service (contract on a yearly basis) for those living in the city limits of Hamilton, at no cost to our citizens;
• Continue to support our students, teachers and schools; and
• Continue to promote safety for our citizens by providing our city departments with the safety training, employees, equipment, tools and supplies needed to keep our city running smoothly.
In order to continue to serve you and help provide a better city, VOTE Sherry Pickard Armstrong for Hamilton City Council Seat #3 on Tuesday, August 26.
