Donald Wade Sullins
Donald Wade Sullins, 80, of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Wade was born on Oct. 27, 1945, to J.H. and Sylvia Cochran Sullins.
Wade was a graduate of Hamilton High School, was retired from the Alabama Department of Corrections after over 25 years of service and was retired from the Alabama Army National Guard after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Marion County Republican Party and served on the Hamilton City Council. He attended Barnesville F.W.B. Church in Hamilton. Wade enjoyed playing and listening to bluegrass and gospel music, traveling, RV camping and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sullins; brother, Phillip M. Sullins; daughters, Stephanie Sullins Frederick (Randy) and Mary Sullins Knott (Allen); step-son, Darryl Rye (Dana); grandchildren, Jacob Nichols, Jonah Nichols, Anna Marie Frederick and Olivia Frederick; step-granddaughter, LeAnn Rye; great-granddaughter, Marcie Claire Frederick; step-great-grandchildren, Payton Purser and Haley Purser; best friend Drew Manley; and a host of aunt, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marcell Flippo Sullins; step-children, Debra Sanderson Mixon, Randy B. Sanderson and Mark A. Sanderson.
Funeral services with military honors were held on Nov. 29, 2025. Burial followed in Hamilton Memory Gardens.
