Mrs. Peggy Joan Trimm Harbin, better known as Joan, 77, of Winfield, after a long battle with cancer and surrounded by her family, passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Cottondale.
She was born in Fayette on Dec. 17, 1944, to Eual and Earah Floyd Trimm. Mrs. Harbin was a 1964 graduate of Winfield City High School, she later attended Bevill (Brewer) State College and earned her LPN degree. Mrs. Harbin was a member of the Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  

Mrs. Nancy Ann Barkley, 77, of Kansas, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Barkley was born in Phillips County, Ark., on Dec. 4, 1944, to JB and Amelia Weimiller Clark.
Mrs. Barkley was a 1962 graduate of Barton High School in Barton, Ark., and later attended Memphis State University where she received a degree in computer science. Mrs. Barkley was a member of the Glen Allen Church of Christ and spent much of her life employed with the Dover Corporation. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, cross stitching and spending time with her family.

Randy Bailey, 64, of Vina, passed away on Oct. 31, 2022, at his residence.

Mrs. Mary Eloise Lawrence, better known as Eloise, 92, of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Jeanette Louise Sprinkle Huguley, 63, of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at her residence.
Mrs. Huguley was born in Illinois on Sept. 25, 1959, to Vester and Myrtle Smith Sprinkle. She attended Pekin High School in Pekin, Ill., and spent much of her life taking care of her family. She enjoyed going to the mountains and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Martha Jeanette Cantrell, 80, of Hodges, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at Burns Nursing Home.

Mary ‘Joyce’ Clark White, 91, of Huntsville, went to be with our heavenly father on October 16, 2022.  

Benjie Tidwell, 48, of Guin, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.
He was born on July 5, 1974, in Killen, T.X. He is the son of Benny Joe and Jackie Flippo Tidwell. He lived in Guin most of his life and was a member of the Guin Church of Christ.

Ms. Melba June Palmer, 88, of Brilliant, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at her residence.
Ms. Palmer was born in Brilliant on Aug. 4, 1934, to Lee and Ida Ingle Palmer. She was a member of the Haleyville Church of Christ and a 1952 graduate of Brilliant High School. Ms. Palmer spent much of her life working in the telecommunications field where she later retired after 27 years of service.

Elsie M. Overton, 79, of Hackleburg, passed away on Oct. 17, 2022, at her home.  
She was born on Dec. 18, 1942, in Phil Campbell.
She is survived by her children - Randall (Linda) Raper, Tracey (Karen) Raper, Dale (Courtney) Overton and Gail Overton (Danny) Holmes; two brothers; two sisters; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents - L.W. and Virgie Burfield; her husband - Max Overton; her four brothers; and her one sister.

Mr. James David McDaniel, better known as David, 72, of Winfield, passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at the DCH Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Martha JoNell Hill, better known as JoNell, 73, of Guin, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at the Fayette Long Term Care Center.
Ms. Hill was born in Fayette County on June 6, 1949, to Russell and Inez Waldrop Sizemore. She was a member of the Landmark Church near Guin. Mrs. Hill worked in the textile industry in her early years of employment; she most recently was employed with Sunset Manor Nursing Facility in Guin as the activity director. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, flowering, and spending time with others, often being referred to as a social butterfly.

Ms. Martha Ann Burleson Henson, 57, of Guin, passed away at her residence.
She was born on April 7, 1965, in Haleyville to James Clyde and Maylene Gilbert Burleson. She was a member of the Gold Mine Church of Christ near Brilliant and attended Brilliant High School. She worked for many years in the textile industry at Brilliant Manufacturing later known as Tullahoma Industries.

Mrs. Carrie Sue Eads, 79, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Eldridge, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct.15, 2022.  She was born on July 1, 1943, in Fayette County to Samuel and Bethel Lee Dozier. Mrs. Eads was a former member of the Eldridge Baptist Church and attended Hubbertville High School. She was a devoted wife and mother, beloved daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Billy Joe Burleson, 89, of Brilliant, passed from this life on Oct. 11, 2022, surrounded by his family at home.
He was born on June 17, 1933, at the Sunny Home Community to the the late Orbie Dell and Velma Barton Burleson. He was the owner and Operator of his own trucking company. He was a faithful member of the Whitehouse Church of Christ.

Mr. Justin Ryan Whitehead, 30, of the Hubbertville Community, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1992, in Winfield to Timothy Whitehead and the late Tammy Ratliff Whitehead. He was a 2010 graduate of Hubbertville High School and an employee of Stark Pest Control Co.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Jimmie Ray Perry, better known as Jim, 88, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, in the Diversicare Health Care Facility in Winfield.

Mr. Joe Morris Herron, 83, of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, in the Diversicare Health Care Facility.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1939, in Vernon to Rosco and Viola Colburn Herron.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and his best friend - Bessie Chambless Franks.  
A graveside service for Mr. Herron was held on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, from the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win.

Mr. James Robert Herren, better known as “Jim”, 85, of the Whites Chapel Community passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Herren was born on Nov. 21, 1936, in Fayette County to C.S. and Dora Bopeep Hollingsworth Herren. He was a member of the Whites Chapel Church of Christ and a 1954 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He received an engineering degree from Auburn University in 1961. Mr. Herren spent much of his life as a plant manager for the Fayette Glove Plant. In his spare time Jim enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.

Mr. William Kermit Haney, 90, of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at his daughter’s residence.
Mr. Haney was born on May 23, 1932, in Brilliant to John and Autie Mae Beasley Haney. Mr. Haney was a member of the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church. He was employed with Farmall Tractor Co. in Illinois, and later worked with Continental Conveyor in Winfield where he retired after 25 years of service. Mr. Haney enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing the guitar and harmonica in his spare time.

James Wilford Channell, 90, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at his residence.
He was born in Lamar County on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1932, to James Crave Channell and Mary Cotton Channell.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children - Jewel Nelson, Peggy Jones, Karen Mann, Brenda Hughes, Janice Seals and Jimmy Channell; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brother - Leonard Channell; sister - Francis Burk; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Rickey White, 74, of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. White was born on Nov. 11, 1947, in Winfield to Ned and Hattie Belle Haney White.
Mr. White was a United States Marine Corp Veteran and welder for International Harvester Co. in Illinois for many years. He then moved to Florida where he was owner/operator of his own dry-wall company until his retirement. After his retirement, Mr. White returned to his hometown of Winfield and enjoyed riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends.

Thomas H. Durham, 81, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at Generations of Vernon.
He was born in Iowa on April 18, 1941, to Virgil Durham and Signa Streeper Durham.

Sarah Cooper, 89, of Hamilton, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at Marion Regional Nursing Home of Hamilton.
She was born in Guin on Jan. 31, 1933, where she raised and went to school.
She was a member of Hamilton First Baptist Church. She and her husband, Lee, owned and operated various restaurants in Hamilton for many years. She was well known by the countless customers at Cooper's Cafeteria and other establishments.

Mr. Elsworth Sudduth, Jr., 80, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at the Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper.  

Mr. Everett Lee Sizemore, 74, of Coker, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at the UAB Medical Center.

Peggy Sanderson, 95, of Guin, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1927, in Guin. She is the daughter of the late Bradford Glenn and Vera Eunice Langston Alexander and the wife of the late John William “Bill” Sanderson.  
She lived in Guin most of her life.
She is survived by a daughter - Dianne Sanderson Stokes; a son - Randall (Jacqueline) Sanderson all of Guin; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sanderson requested no service to be held.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Sims Henderson, 72, of the Wayside Community, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at her residence.
Mrs. Henderson was born in Hubbertville on March 9, 1950, to Rass and Bethel Wyers Sims. She attended Hubbertville High School and was a member of the Guin First Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Henderson spent much of her life working as a caregiver for many families. She loved gardening, working in her flower beds and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ann Bostick Couch Garrett, 68, beloved daughter and sister, passed away unexpectedly at her Atlanta home on Friday, Sept. 26, 2022.

Ms. Cynthia Kaye Cagle, better known as Cindy, 61, of the Twin Community, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at her residence. Ms. Cagle was born in Winfield on Oct. 24, 1960, to Melvin and Aline Flanagan Cagle. She was a 1979 graduate of Brilliant High School and attended Bevill State Community College where she received a degree as an LPN. She was a member of the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church and attended Center United Methodist Church for 34 years.
