Hamilton man arrested in Lauderdale County on human trafficking charges

LAUDERDALE COUNTY — The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday, Sept. 4, that Robert Earl Danford, 69, of Hamilton, was arrested on human trafficking charges.
Danford is being charged with human trafficking in the first degree and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. The announcement said Danford was being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center to await an Aniah’s Law hearing as of the date of the post.
According to an earlier press release, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office and multiple other agencies launched a joint operation in Lauderdale County “targeting adults attempting to engage in unlawful sexual activity with children.”
The initial operation described in the Aug. 31 press release resulted in six arrests.
