PHIL CAMPBELL - A two-day deluge of rain created a sopping wet field  for the season opener for both Phil Campbell High School and Phillips High School at Parrish Stadium Friday, Aug. 20. PCHS was ready for PHS though, shutting them out 27-0.
Phillips received the kick off, but a flag was called against Phillips, a sign of things to come for both teams. When Phil Campbell’s turn for the ball came, they took ran it back to make it first-and-goal, only to be intercepted by Phillips’ Hayden Kelley. The Bears were forced to punt however, and the first quarter ended with no score.
