Help us welcome our ‘Marvelous Marcy’

Marcy Jorden is the new advertising manager at the Journal Record.

There’s a new face at the Journal Record, and we are delighted to have her. Please help us welcome Marcy Jorden, our “Marvelous Marcy,” to the role of Ad Manager for YOU! Yes, you!
She does work here, but she is here to manage YOUR advertising needs. Her job is to help you figure out the best way to showcase your business and your services to the public.
And with a background in management, as well as owning her own business, Marcy brings an assortment of beneficial experience, skills and tools to her position.
I met Marcy about three years ago and fell in like with her immediately! To know her is to love her. She is personable, sweet, caring, understanding, EXTREMELY hard working, ingenious, kind, compassionate, friendly, outgoing... the list just goes on and on--but you get the gist.
She is the perfect person to work with the community and help them get the word out about their events and happenings, their sales and specials, their grand openings and newsworthy occasions, and everything else advertising-related.
“I’m all about the community,” Marcy noted. “I want business owners and business leaders in Marion County to know I can help them get to where they need to go.
“I’ve owned my own business, so I understand the importance and the hard work involved with getting the word out. Yes, you have to spend money to make money, but I’ve done so as well, and I can help you connect with the public and your customers.”
I believe many of you already know Marcy. She has probably helped you in her role as a top employee or store manager. You may have even noticed a nearly complete overhaul of a store you frequented for years and years that suddenly began to look amazingly better and better each visit. I know I did.
I saw Marcy literally transform that store. And I watched her always treat every single customer with the same respect and courtesy she always expressed with me. If you know her, I’ll bet you’re missing her, too. Well, come see  her! You are welcome to visit. And I’m sure if you know of anyone needing advertising, you won’t hesitate to spread the word that Marcy is now at the Journal Record!
I first met Marcy at a job she had helping people in need in the healthcare industry. Her kindness and compassion when I came to visit a friend who’d been injured stood out to me. She made an impact.
You never know how an act of kindness will pay off... Her kindness then (and since then) kept her on my mind, and when a position opened up here at our newspaper, I wondered if she might be a good fit. Surely someone who can manage an entire store would be a valuable asset to customers needing assistance managing their advertising needs.
Marcy is also a mom, which we know is a whole other incredible skill set. She’s been married to David Jorden for 24 years, and the couple have two daughters, Harley and Emma. She’s lived in Arizona and Colorado, but loves the Marion County area and the people here. And they all seem to love her, too.
I can remember having to go to the store for just a few items. You usually hurry in and hurry back out. But not when Marcy was working. I was so excited to get to spend just a few moments with her. She is so upbeat, she just lifts your spirits immediately. How blessed we are to get to work with her everyday now. And how blessed this community is to have her focusing on their needs.
Most of us have to work, but why not work with someone so marvelous? Most businesses have to advertise, so why not advertise with the aid of someone so outstanding and exceptional? We have a circulation of 8,500, and your message can reach every single subscriber and reader.
Please help us welcome Marcy to our team! Our newspaper is here for the community. We are nothing without our community and without our Good Lord watching over us all.
We prayed for this position and to find someone who needed us as much as we needed them--who we could be a blessing to as much as they could be a blessing to our readers and advertisers. We believe God heard our prayers and went exceedingly and abundantly above and beyond our greatest expectations.
And we believe you’re going to enjoy working with Marcy just as much as we do.
“My biggest goal is to help you succeed in your business or help you promote your event or your fundraiser,” she said. “I like to help the community. I can help you with your advertising. If you do it in the right way, it will come back around and pay off for you.
“Business owners and managers are busy doing their jobs, and I can take away the stress of trying to figure out advertising for them. I can help make the process less painful than it is for many of those who need an ad, but have no idea of what to put in an ad.
“As a person who has owned their own business, I can relate to owners.  Let’s work together. Perseverance, determination and advertising can get you where you need to be.”
