Marion County loses to Pickens County 22-16

REFORM — The Marion County Red Raiders lost to the Pickens County Tornadoes 22-16 on Friday night, Oct. 25.
The Tornadoes were the first to score and were leading 8-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The Raiders responded with a touchdown with about eight minutes left in the second quarter, but failed the 2-point conversion attempt. At halftime, the Raiders were trailing 8-6.
In the third quarter, the Raiders kicked a field goal with about nine minutes to go to take a slim 9-8 lead.
But Pickens County answered the field goal with a touchdown pass with about six minutes left in the third quarter. With an extra two points, the Tornadoes regained the lead 16-9.
Pickens County would score again with about four minutes left in the third quarter to increase their lead to 22-9.
Marion County would score one final touchdown early on in the fourth quarter, but even with the PAT, it wasn’t enough, and the Raiders lost 22-16.
This week, the Raiders will travel to Lamar County High School to play the Vernon Bulldogs on Friday night at 7 p.m.
