Lou Gilley

Lou Gilley, 85, of Guin, passed away on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at her residence. She was born on Jan. 24, 1940, in Brilliant, to Thomas and Geneva Johnson Stanford.
Mrs. Gilley was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church and was a 1958 graduate of Brilliant High School. She spent much of her life as a devoted homemaker, caring for her family. In her spare time, Mrs. Gilley enjoyed sewing and crafting, going to yard sales and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gilley is survived by her grandchildren, Kristi South (Brian), Matt Gilley and Zach Gilley (Randi); 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Estelle Gunnels, Betty Mann and Barbara Fowler (Dan); and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilley was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gilley; her sons, Donnie Gilley and Kenny Gilley; and her siblings, Horace Stanford, Derrall Stanford and Helen Faye Hulsey.
A graveside service for Mrs. Gilley was held on Jan. 13, 2026, at Brilliant Memorial Gardens.
