Mrs. Martha Ann Lynn, 79, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at her residence. Mrs. Lynn was born on Dec. 23, 1946, in Winfield, to James Earl and Beatrice May Mayfield.
Mrs. Lynn was a lifelong resident of Winfield and a faithful member of Winfield Freewill Baptist Church. A 1965 graduate of Winfield High School, Mrs. Lynn dedicated much of her professional life to serving her community through her work with the Northwest Regional Library, where she began as a secretary and later served as regional director for many years until her retirement in 2009. In her spare time, Mrs. Lynn loved cooking, reading and going on camping trips with her family. She also enjoyed shopping, collecting keepsakes and playing the piano, a gift she shared with her church congregation in earlier years.
Mrs. Lynn is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles Lynn; her children, Kevin Lynn (Tonya) and Donna Harrison Hendrix (Allen); grandchildren, Candice Elliott, Monica Free (Alex), Brittney Jones (Owen), Misty Pollard (Rusty), Michael Harrison (Kelley), Holly Hendrix and Justin Hendrix; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Linda Ward (Randy) and Wanda Davis (John); and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lynn was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lynn; two step-grandchildren, Jared Harrison and Heather Hendrix; son-in-law, Dennis Harrison; and two infant brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lynn will be held on Jan. 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. service time at the church.
