Winfield police seize drugs, guns from residence Substances included meth, fentanyl, and ‘Liquid G’ (GHB)

WINFIELD — The Winfield Police Department had a major breakthrough in an investigation over Memorial Day Weekend that led to the seizure of a large amount of drugs and a few firearms.
According to Narcotics Investigator Johnathon Mordecai, police executed a search warrant on a residence and found just under three pounds of marijuana, just over half a pound of crystal methamphetamine, 52 and a half Suboxone pills, a few bottles of steroids, just under two grams of fentanyl powder, along with 36 pounds of a substance known as “Liquid G,” which tested positive for GHB.
“GHB is a synthetic drug,” Mordecai explained. “It’s something that, to my understanding, is relatively new, and it’s still up in the air on how it’s made. We know there are multiple ways of making it. One way is somehow using commercial grade floor stripper and doing something with it, like letting it sit for a while so it crystalizes and turns it into ‘Liquid G’ as it’s known on the street.”
