Martha Faye Cain

Martha Faye Cain, 88, of Guin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin. She was born on April 16, 1938, in Hamilton, Ala., to Elmus Ward and Lona Mae Rudicell Ballard.
Martha was a graduate of Hamilton High School Class of 1956. She retired from State Bank & Trust in Winfield, after several years of dedicated service. Martha was a faithful member of Guin First Baptist Church, where her quiet faith and gentle spirit were evident throughout her life. Martha will be remembered for her warm hospitality, always welcoming family, friends and anyone who crossed her path into her home. An exceptional cook and baker, she expressed her love through countless meals and homemade treats that brought people together around her table.
Martha was a loving mother who had a wonderful sense of humor and found joy in making others smile. Her greatest treasure was her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. She took pride in maintaining a beautiful, meticulously kept home that reflected the care she gave to everything she did. She also cherished traveling with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Above all, Martha will be remembered for the love she shared so generously, her servant's heart and the lasting legacy of kindness, warmth and devotion she leaves with all who knew her.
Martha is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Ray Cain of Guin; son, Phillip (Stephanie) Cain of Hamilton; daughter, Tina (Maurice) Galloway of Gonzales, La.; grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Griffin of Covington La., Jordan (Maeleigh) Cantrell of Covington, Logan (Jamie) Cain of Henderson, Tenn., and Jessica Galloway of Gonzales; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Cain, Abbie Cain and Mack Griffin. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Clark of Jasper; her brother, Bill (Annette) Ballard of Sulligent; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gatty "Buster" Ballard and James Thomas "Bunk" Ballard, and her brother-in-law, Larry Clark.
Funeral services were held on June 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Guin. Burial followed at Rudicell Cemetery in Detroit, Ala.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunset Manor and to Amedisys for the love shown to their mother during her time there.
