WINFIELD — Mule Day in Winfield returns this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25–26, bringing two days of shopping, music, antique vehicles and the community’s much-anticipated Mule Day Parade to downtown Winfield.
Festivities begin Friday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m. with Mule Night Madness, featuring late night shopping, live entertainment and a midnight 5K run. Registration for the Mule Night 5K will be held from 10:30–11:30 p.m. at Winfield City Hall. Participants may also register online through RunSignup under the sanctioned race name “Mule Night 5K Winfield AL.”
This year’s live music lineup begins on Friday night with Nikki Moore and The Cooter Brown Band at Citizens Bank.
The annual Mule Night Bluegrass Jamboree will be held on the Mountain Dew Stage at the RW Harris store. The jamboree will feature the Reed Family, Stateline Strings and the Jeff Long Band.
Saturday will feature Bama Dancers, Dynamic Dance and the Chase Evan Band.
Saturday’s activities begin at 7 a.m. with vendors opening for business, plus dancing and music at the main stage throughout the day. Vehicle enthusiasts can enjoy a Car & Bike Show at Winfield Middle School beginning at 8 a.m. Antique tractors will be on display at Gateway Foodland.
The highlight of the weekend will be the Mule Day Parade, scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday in downtown Winfield. The popular parade will feature mules, horses, jacks and jennies, celebrating the tradition that has made Mule Day a beloved annual community event.
Free shuttle service will be available throughout Saturday to help visitors get around the event.
