GUIN - The Marion County Red Raiders lost a heartbreaker against the Lions of Hubbertville High School 34-32 on Friday, Oct. 4.
The Red Raiders took the lead late in the second quarter, but 14 unanswered points from the Lions allowed them to regain control of the game and build a lead late in the fourth quarter.
The game started with the visiting Lions finding the board first. Starting their first drive of the game on the Raider 48, the Lions took advantage of the short field and quickly moved inside the 20. Two snaps later, Hubbertville Gage Key carried around the left end from 11 yards out for the score. The PAT was good, and the Lions had a 7-0 advantage with 9:14 left in the opening period.
