HAMILTON - A new retailer will be serving Marion County and will be celebrating by presenting a $1,000 gift to Hamilton High School.
Gordmans, an off-price retailer resembling stores such as T.J. Maxx and Ross, will be replacing Goody’s at the Hamilton Heights Shopping Center. The grand opening will take place on Tuesday, March 17, at 9 a.m.
The Goody’s stores in Haleyville and Russellville will also be converted to Gordmans and will be hosting their own respective events simultaneously. Haleyville High School and Russellville High School will also be receiving $1,000 gifts.
As part of the festivities, Gordmans will be offering giveaways and other fun surprises. The first 100 guests in line at the Grand Opening Brand Bash Celebrations will receive a Gordmans insulated tote bag and have an opportunity to win a $50 gift card or a $5 shopping card.
Gordmans is part of the Stage Store corporation based in Houston, Texas, and operates 625 department stores across 42 states under the nameplates of Goody’s, Bealls, Palais Royal and Peebles.
Stage will be converting 500 of its department stores to Gordmans in 2020 and will have approximately 700 Gordmans nationwide.
“At our Grand Opening Brand Bash Celebrations, we’re inviting area communities to join city representatives at the ribbon cuttings where we will recognize and support local schools,” said Stage Stores President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Glazer.
“We are proud to be part of the Alabama communities, helping to sustain jobs, quality of life and economic growth. Just as exciting is our strategy in bringing the Gordmans shopping experience to almost all of our department store locations across the country during 2020 and positively impacting even more cities.”
The merchandise selection at Gordmans includes apparel and footwear for the family, home décor, accent furniture, wall décor, bedding and bath, kitchen gadgets, fashion jewelry, designer fragrances, toys and pet accessories. An Amazon Counter will also be located inside the store for residents to ship and receive packages securely.
