HAMILTON — The Northwest Alabama Gas District (NWAGD) voted to hire a consulting firm to do research into the effectiveness of the current annual net distributable income (ANDI) formula during a meeting on Monday, Aug. 2. The study will be conducted by Jackson Thornton, a certified public accounting and consulting firm with several locations in Alabama and one in Tennessee.
The study will take around 30 days, and will cost over $6,000.
On qualifying years, member municipalities can benefit from a $500,000 ANDI disbursement from the gas district. The half-million dollars is split up six ways according to a set formula, which was adopted in 1990.
