HAMILTON - Marion County Emergency Management Agency Director Eric Terrell called on the Marion County Commission to make a statement on the resurgence of COVID-19 in the county during a regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 16, at the commission office in Hamilton.
In attendance during meeting and discussion were the Marion County Commissioners Bob Burleson, Dale Holt, Kenneth Cochran, Keith Nichols and Tim "Ears" Estes; Terrell; Marion County Sheriff Kevin Williams; Revenue Commissioner Barbara Cooper; Probate Judge Paige Vick; Commission Attorney Scott Hunt; and County Administrator Kalyn Moore.
"I think it would be a good idea for the commission to make a statement on COVID. I don't know what you guys are comfortable saying, but I think it would be a good idea for something to come from y'all," said Terrell.
"We're all concerned--me and Kevin (Williams), the sheriff--we talk about the numbers and the direction we're going in, we talk about the vaccines--I know that's a hot topic."
Terrell stated that he has had a difficult time convincing residents that the vaccine is effective to fight in the pandemic.
