Christy Price Ballard

Christy Price Ballard, 68, of Fayette, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2023, surrounded by family and incredible caregivers at the Grandview Medical Center.
She was born on June 25, 1954, in Tuscaloosa, to parents Faye and Danny Price. The family moved to Fayette in 1968 where she graduated from Fayette County High School. She continued her education with a study of nursing at Northwest Alabama State Technical College in Hamilton.
She dedicated her working career to loving and caring for others in our area. She worked at the Fayette County Hospital for Dr. James Morrison, Dr. Jon Sanford, Kemp Meadow Assisted Living and Morningside of Fayette.
She was a gentle and loving soul. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren. She loved her trips to the beach and New Orleans. The past year of her life she enjoyed participating in various activities at Morningview. She especially enjoyed visits from family and very dear friends.
Ms. Ballard is survived by her parents - Faye and Danny Price of Fayette; brothers - Dan (Rita) Price of Vernon and Clay (Julie) Price of Auburn; children - Jamie (Mandi) Ballard of Winfield, Jenifer (Drew) Elmore of Gordo; and grandchildren - Alana (Jacob) Box, Jake Ballard, Blake Ballard, Hayden Ballard and Charli Elmore.
She is preceded in death by her son - Jonathan.
The graveside service for Ms. Ballard was held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, from the Fayette Memorial Gardens. Bro. Scott Davis was the officiating minister.
