Mrs. Delores Corcoran Griffin, 81, of Niceville, Fla. formerly of Winfield, passed away on June 29, 2024, surrounded by her family. Delores was born in Memphis, Tenn. on March 29, 1943, to Fred and Lenora Ratliff Dacus. Mrs. Griffin was a graduate of Bartlett High School in Bartlett, Tenn. While living in Alabama, she was a faithful member of the Brilliant Church of God. Delores was a caregiver to many, a homemaker to her family and an avid reader. Most of all, she enjoyed making new friends and traveling.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her mother, Lenora Dacus; husband, Billy Griffin; daughters, Carrie Huddleston, Theresa Corcoran and Kelly Fitzsimmons (Brian); son, Richard Corcoran (Lei); grandchildren, Allie Rutherford (Paul), Garrett Giddings (Emily), Jack Giddings, Will Fitzsimmons, Cole Fitzsimmons, James Fitzsimmons, Riley Palmer (Brent), Joanne Vaifale, Kathleen Carrigan (Devin), Kayla Corcoran (Michael Ford) and Shane Corcoran; great-grandchildren, Lila Giddings, Jaden Carrigan, and Logan Carrigan; sisters, Sherry Taylor, Shilo Barber, Darla Lockhart, Karen Steen; brother, David Wesley Dacus; and a host of nieces, nephews and other close family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Bradfield and William L. Corcoran, Jr; her father, Fred Leon Dacus, Jr.; sisters, Janet Peaks and Kay Dacus; and brothers, Wayne and Gary Dacus.
A celebration of life service was held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Miles Memorial Funeral Home with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Garden in Gu-Win.
