Edward "Shane" Stidham, running for Hamilton City Council Place #1
HAMILTON — Hi, I'm Edward “Shane” Stidham and I'm proud to announce my candidacy for Hamilton City Council place #1. I am married to Misty and we have three children: Zac Hanford (Savannah), Mackenzie and Miley, and we have two grandchildren: Camden and Graylen Hanford.
I'm a lifelong resident of Hamilton, and I genuinely care about our city and the citizens thereof.
All of my adult life, I have worked and served the people of our city, state and nation in dual capacity roles. In July of 2024, I retired from Hamilton A&I Correctional Facility with 25 years of faithful service, and I'm still proudly serving in the Alabama Army National Guard after 35 years. During this time, I have been deployed four times overseas and once stateside during the COVID crisis. I truly believe I have a good understanding of "serving others.”
I'm running for city councilman because I want to help move our city forward by improving our current infrastructure and welcoming new growth. Reliable infrastructure is the backbone of everyday life, and I'm committed to prioritizing repairs that keep our city functioning, our neighborhoods connected and our town safe. The time is now, to fix what is broken. Our city deserves better and so do you. Our current water issue should be a priority for this council, and if elected, I intend to push it.
I humbly ask for your support and vote on August 26, 2025. "Together, let's make our city work for all of us."
