Brush fire spirals out of control, displacing family

HALEYVILLE — The dangers of burning during dry conditions were experienced in a traumatic way Tuesday afternoon, March 11, when a brush fire spread out of control to consume a mobile unit, destroy a vehicle and displace a family with children.

HALEYVILLE — An electrical fire contained to the press room area of the Northwest Alabamian newspaper office on Monday, Sept. 23, did not result in any injuries to employees, but did cause an evacuation of the building and a temporary shutdown of the business, affecting deadline schedules last week.
