Winfield drama students present spring show

 WINFIELD - The Winfield City High School drama students are presenting their annual spring production at The Pastime Theatre this week. The students will present the romantic comedy Tom Jones with public performances on Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, March 17, at 2 p.m.   
The production was adapted by David Rogers from the novel written by Henry Fielding, published in 1749. The book is generally considered one of the first novels in the English language.

The Winfield cheerleading squad captured its third-consecutive world championship at the Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8, 9 and 10. ORLANDO, Fla. - The Winfield cheerleading squad captured its third consecutive world championship at the Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8, 9 and 10.
The squad, which also won its ninth UCA National Championship at the event, has now claimed the world crown for the large varsity non-tumbling division for three-straight years.
