Winfield – The Winfield Pirates’ all-star lefty pitcher, Brody Cook, has signed to pitch for the Bevill State Community College Bears.
Cook, 18, who is the son of Chris and Tara Cook, is a 2021 Winfield City High School graduate. He has two brothers, Connor and Jack Hayden.
In his senior season, Cook pitched 79.1 innings his senior year, finishing the season with a 12-3 record, one save, six shutouts and an earned run average (ERA) of 0.35 and four earn runs total. Cook gave up 10 walks, recorded 116 strikeouts and posted a .744 walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP).
